Save an Alcoholic

Alcoholism is the inability to control drinking due to both physical and emotional dependence on alcohol. Causes for Alcoholism are Genes, Environment and Psycology.

We provide de-addiction support

In our meetings, we, “once alcoholics” share our past driven by alcohol; how we met members of MADYAMUKTHI and how our lives changed for good. We don’t remain anonymous; we openly provide testimonies to society to bring more and more alcoholics into our fold and transform them to ideal citizens.De-addiction support is the most satisfying of all three dimensions of fight against alcohol. We see families transforming to a happier state. But, at the same time, fighting alcohol addiction is one of the toughest things in a victim’s life. So, a lot of effort and care needs to be put in, to save one from alcoholism. We identify alcoholics; speak to them and their families several times; persuade them to come to our meetings and convince them to stay away from alcohol and drugs. We also arrange medical support for those who experience withdrawal symptoms. We facilitate them to stand firm on their decision to attain “Freedom from Alcohol and other drugs” and together, we keep renewing our decision “say NO to Alcohol” every new day.

Mamachen Sir started de-addiction support in early months of 2014.  In a short span of 2 years, we are more than 120 “once alcoholics”. Less than 10 alcoholics were admitted in de-addiction centers for support and rehabilitation after continuous relapses. Rest of us, depended only on MADYAMUKTHI support groups to stick to our decision – “say NO to alcohol”. We are the proof that anyone can come out of his / her alcoholism. We are here for support.

Other two dimensions of MADYAMUKTHI’s fight against alcohol are

1. Influence government policies on alcohol regulation and prohibition
2. Create awareness on alcohol and drug abuse
